Resurrection by Peter Money

Resurrection
Peter Money

So easy to “build a place to pray”
on a beach that’s been hit by a storm.
On the bay I gathered smooth rocks
from the size of a curled new-born
to the size of an adult heart
& made three totems of three.
On the ocean side I tilted what driftwood
I could & pushed an end as far as I could
into a rise of sand to form again
three figures from the sea—one from deck,
one from bow, & one with a natural curve
just from a tree.
