It’s now been several weeks since I returned from Vermont to find that other poetry lovers had placed 3 poems on the Poetry Tree! Evidently, the ‘tree defender’ has either given up, left town, or likes Edna St. Vincent Millay, but at any rate, these poems have lasted unscathed. One blew away in the recent winter storms, but as of yesterday before the Governor declared a state of emergency, two poems continued to grace the beautiful cherry tree—Snow Season Over the Night Lake after Borges and Millay’s Recuerdo. Perhaps there’s hope for The Poetry Tree afterall. Since my Welcome sign had been torn down several weeks ago, I haven’t had any emails but I’m hoping to rehang the sign with its email address for comments and poems.
